Your privacy is important to the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC). This privacy policy describes how we treat the information we collect when you visit and use the features of our website (www.glaaacc.org).

Personal Information
GLAAACC does not collect personal information for visitors browsing our website. GLAAACC may collect personal information for visitors who choose to purchase a Chamber membership, register for an event or sign-up to receive our email communications. In these cases, we will collect personal information including but not limited to: your name, title, company name and address, email, phone and/or fax. GLAAACC may give the personal information of GLAAACC members and its associates to third parties for the purpose of marketing. GLAAACC may also share your personal information with our third party website administrators (only for the purpose of serving you) and as required by law.

Aggregate Information
GLAAACC collects and shares aggregated information about our members and website visitors with our partners, affiliates and sponsors. This information does not identify individuals, and is used to provide our partners, affiliates and sponsors with information about the volume and activities of visitors to our website.

Online Transactions
GLAAACC will collect credit card information from visitors choosing to register for an event or purchase a membership from the GLAAACC website. All transactions are processed through our secure online payment system. GLAAACC uses an outside credit card processing company to collect payment for online transactions made on glaaacc.org. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purpose. GLAAACC will use your credit card information for billing, event and membership purposes only. If we have trouble processing your membership or event purchase we will use the contact information you provided to contact you.

Security
All personal information described above is stored on restricted database servers. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or membership form, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Newsletters and Mailings
GLAAACC distributes monthly e-newsletters, various announcement and events e-blast and mailings. Visitors to our website can subscribe to our mailing list. When you opt-in to receive communications from GLAAACC, we will collect your personal information (including but not limited to your name and email address) for the purpose of delivering these communications to you. Participation in these communications is voluntary, and you may choose to unsubscribe at anytime.

Surveys and Polls
On occasion, GLAAACC may provide the opportunity to participate in surveys or polls on our website and/or via email. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or polls is voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose your personal information.

Email this Page to a Friend
GLAAACC allows you to email pages of our website to a friend. If you choose to use our Email this Page to a Friend feature, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. GLAAACC will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit our website. GLAAACC stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and for tracking the success this referral feature.

Data Tracking
GLAAACC makes use of browser “cookies.” Cookies are small text files placed on your computer’s hard disk by our server. They allow us to quickly check your status as a member or associate to better serve you on glaaacc.org. GLAAACC will never use cookies to retrieve information from a computer that is unrelated to our site or services. If you wish to disable these cookies, the help portion of the tool bar on most browsers will tell you how do that. If you set your browser to disable cookies, however, you may not be able to access certain aspects of the GLAAACC website.

GLAAACC may also use log files including but not limited to internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and click stream data. Log files are used to administer the site, track users’ movements around the site and analyze trends about the usage of our website. Log files do not identify individual users.

GLAAACC may also use embedded images in emails to track the open rates for our mailings, so that we can tell which mailings appeal most to Chamber members and associates.

Contributions to glaaacc.org
Public comments submitted to glaaacc.org are subject to review by GLAAACC prior to posting. GLAAACC reserves the right to monitor and withhold comments that include personal, offensive or potentially libelous language, materials or links. Comments may be edited for spelling errors and for clarity before posting and without notification. In compliance with federal and state laws, GLAAACC will not post any material that is protected by copyright or any other intellectual property rights unless you are the owner of those rights, or you have permission to publish that material. Offenders of these rules will be excluded from future participation.

Links to Other Sites
GLAAACC provides links allowing you to access third party websites. GLAAACC is not responsible for the privacy policy, practices or content that appears on those sites and does not endorse these sites. Please consult those sites’ individual privacy policies in order to determine how they treat user information.

Modification to this Policy
GLAAACC may revise or amend this policy at any time at our sole discretion. All changes will be posted to this page. We encourage users to visit this page periodically to review our current policy.
