The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) was established by a group of business owners and executives to promote the growth of black-owned enterprises and to expand into the international arena. "Marrying L.A. companies with export financiers and international-sales contacts is a top priority." - Chairman Gene Hale

GLAAACC proactively works as a vehicle that combines the resources of the surrounding African-American communities with other organizations to secure solutions for expanding our business and cultural communities. The Chamber's immediate goal is to increase African-American presence and participation in the multi-million dollar Los Angeles City and County business economies.

	Broadened Network of Business Contacts and
	Opportunity

	GLAAACC's membership list is an impressive roster of small businesses, corporations and other organizations. Our members have come to rely upon our special events as a viable networking vehicles. Our emphasis is always to build business and cultural growth. 	Business Legislative Agendas

	GLAAACC executive members maintain strong alliances with local-, state- and national-level government officials and their staffs that offer our membership regular, timely information and updates on legislative measures tat impact our business communities.

	Meeting With Business and Community Leaders

	Our Town Hall Meetings, inaugurated by GLAAACC's founding Chairman, Gene Hale, assemble business, political and community leaders with our Chamber and community population. The Town Hall Meetings continue to be a key relationship-building and information-gathering opportunities that have gained acclaim from the community at-large. GLAAACC hosts call meetings whenever eminent issues impacting business need to be addressed in a public or organizational forum.

	Cultural Activities and Organizations

	GLAAACC is firmly committed to the preservation of African-American culture as a major resource in the community at-large. We produce and co-sponsor cultural projects that promote a better understanding of community. GLAAACC also embraces the cultural diversity of our community through partnerships with other cultural organizations and institutions. Promoting cultural diversity in the workplace, GLAAACC creates alliances with mainstream and international business opportunities.

	International Commerce

	GLAAACC has assumed a leadership role in expanding the international trade opportunities for its membership through advocacy and education. By maintaining a well-established relationship with the U.S. Department of Commerce, GLAAACC has firmly positioned itself within the "global marketplace," providing its members a gateway to key business opportunities outside of the United States. Participation in trade shows and summits further promotes goodwill and encourages import/export-related business ventures.

	Summary of Membership Benefits

	Mixers - Gatherings designed to give members an opportunity to network, promote their businesses and hear speakers share valuable information. Legislative Briefing - Updates on the latest legislation relating to the business and community environment. Newsletters - Provides news and information of interest to business executives, entrepreneurs and community members. Position - The Chamber regularly reviews and takes positions on various issues related to business and the community. Access - Strong relationships with business and government decision-makers. Town Hall Meetings & Receptions - These are held during the year to introduce business, political and community leaders to the membership. Annual Special Event - Economic Awards Dinner Services - The Chamber provides information and resources to the community at-large. Certificate of Membership - Each member receives a distinctive GLAAACC certificate. Directory Listings Full Time Professional Staff - Supports hundreds of companies, organizations and entities to carry out the goals of the Chamber.
