donald kincey smallOn behalf of the GLAAACC Education Fund & Foundation Board, it is my pleasure to welcome and thank you for visiting our site.

 

We are all aware of the impact that excessive student drop-out rates have on our communities – including hopelessness, crime and abandonment.  We are also of aware of the challenges many young people face every day in getting back and forth to school safely, while perhaps also having the burden of younger siblings, or single parents, or ailing grandparents – or feeling that “college is like talking about a foreign country” – but still some excel.

Mission

The purpose of this 501(c)(3) is to provide financial support for educational programs that promote the post-secondary academic advancement and aspirations of students from schools in underserved communities in the GLAAACC target geographic region, with particular emphasis on those students pursuing a business oriented curriculum.

 

 

Vision Statement

The activities of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Education Fund & Foundation (Foundation) are closely aligned with the Foundation mission and the mission of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (Chamber).

 

Foundation scholarships are unique in that they are granted to minority students who exhibit entrepreneurial aspirations/inclinations in addition to high academic achievement and significant community service contributions.

 

The Foundation seeks to enhance students’ individual and social successes by providing students with supplemental educational programming and business networking opportunities.

The Foundation also seeks to develop the next generation of civic-minded business leaders by providing students with opportunities to model positive corporate citizenship through interaction with the Foundation and Chamber board members, donors, sponsors, Chamber membership and scholarship recipients.

Current Recipients

The GLAAACC Education Fund & Foundation awarded four deserving graduating high school seniors from inner city schools scholarships in the amount of $5,000 at the 11th Annual Scholarship Luncheon.  Additional students were also presented with stipends to assist them with their college expenses.

The mission of the GLAAACC Education Fund & Foundation 501(c) (3) is to provide a scholarship program with emphasis on general academic education for graduating high school seniors. Through the ongoing support of community partners and individuals, the GLAAACC Education Fund & Foundation is able to continue to provide inner-city youth with financial assistance for college, as well as additional academic and professional opportunities they so greatly need.
