The purpose of this 501(c)(3) is to provide financial support for educational programs that promote the post-secondary academic advancement and aspirations of students from schools in under served communities in the GLAAACC target geographic region, with particular emphasis on those students pursuing a business oriented curriculum.
The activities of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Education Fund & Foundation (Foundation) are closely aligned with the Foundation mission and the mission of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (Chamber).
Foundation scholarships are unique in that they are granted to minority students who exhibit entrepreneurial aspirations/inclinations in addition to high academic achievement and significant community service contributions.
The Foundation seeks to enhance students’ individual and social successes by providing students with supplemental educational programming and business networking opportunities.
The Foundation also seeks to develop the next generation of civic-minded business leaders by providing students with opportunities to model positive corporate citizenship through interaction with the Foundation and Chamber board members, donors, sponsors, Chamber membership and scholarship recipients.
The Foundation will host its 17th Anniversary Scholarship Awards Luncheon on June 16, 2016. Click here to be directed to the photo gallery to view pictures from the Foundation’s 2016 luncheon.
