We are all aware of the impact that excessive student drop-out rates have on our communities – including hopelessness, crime and abandonment.  We are also of aware of the challenges many young people face every day in getting back and forth to school safely, while perhaps also having the burden of younger siblings, or single parents, or ailing grandparents – or feeling that “college is like talking about a foreign country” – but still some excel.

These realities are not discounted by the Foundation – they are considered to be qualities of ingenuity, leadership, persistence, work ethic and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Our scholarship selection process includes all of an applicant’s circumstances while focusing on their academic potential to succeed in college.  The top rated students also demonstrate excellence through community service, campus leadership and a passion for community health and well-being.

This year, the Foundation is working towards expanding its role to include collaboration with organizations that provide financial education and entrepreneurship programs.  We need your help.  Please continue to support us - the students we serve need you.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die,
life is like a broken winged bird
that cannot fly.
