GLAAACC aggressively works within the mainstream to secure and maintain open opportunities and support of African American owned businesses.

GLAAACC has compiled the following list which consists of resources that benefit small business owners:
Public Policy
GLAAACC actively advocates on various business issues. The Chamber provides access to politicians and influence over public policy issues that affect the business community. GLAAACC also provides members with opportunities to engage in open dialogue concerning key business issues with legislative officials.
International Trade
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, big companies make up about 4 % of U.S. Exports. This means that 96% of exporters are small businesses. International trade important to starting small businesses because in several cases the products or services you may wish to market are not available or made in your home country.

Throughout the year the Chamber partners with various community organizations on various events and programs that benefit the small business community.

Annual Economic Awards Dinner
GLAAACC’s Annual Economic Awards Dinner was created to acknowledge those who work towards the advancement of the African American business enterprise. Each year, individuals and companies are awarded for their commitment to advocating for the small business enterprise.

Austin Beutner, Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate 2013 addressed the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) Board of Directors at the Tuesday, October 11, 2011 GLAAACC Board Meeting held at The Farm of Beverly Hills at L.A. Live.
Highlights Austin Beutner discussed:
- Expanding Enterprise Zones

- Homelessness in Los Angeles
- Taxing businesses who have businesses outside of the City of Los Angeles
